JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — The Alaska National Guard is hosting a campaign this month to raise awareness and energize efforts to eliminate sexual harassment and sexual assault in the Guard and within the community.
The Alaska National Guard invites community members who have JBER access to the sexual assault prevention and response ceremony, April 6 at 10 a.m. in Hangar 1.
Brig. Gen. Torrence Saxe, adjutant general and commissioner for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, will declare this a month of action as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and sign a proclamation for a renewed commitment to protect Guard members, mission partners and our local community.
The proclamation event will include resource tables and personnel to provide information and assistance, and there will be refreshments.
