About AKARNG Environmental

The Environmental section is part of the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs (DMVA), Army National Guard division. Our office is the technical environmental liaison between the state and federal regulatory agencies and the AKARNG community. Environmental and cultural laws and regulations are complex and constantly changing. We therefore facilitate the procedures necessary to stay compliant with applicable laws and regulations in support of AKARNG's mission. We provide guidance, training, and other support necessary for AKARNG to sustain its mission while also protecting the environment and ensuring stewardship of the natural and cultural resources in Alaska.
