Environmental Compliance Plans & Guidance

Compliance Training - Overview
Training Checklist:
Reach out to your Unit Environmental Officer (EO) or call the Environmental Office to schedule training if any of the following applies to you:
- You or personnel at your unit handle oil/POL and haven't received spill training in the last 12 months
- You or personnel at your unit handle hazardous materials and occasionally/frequently need to coordinate disposal of hazmat and haven't received hazardous waste training in the last 12 months (or within 6 months of employment)
- You or personnel at your unit have been appointed Unit Environmental Officer but haven't received formal training (our office will facilitate training).
- You or personnel at your unit have questions or concerns regarding any environmental compliance, conservation, or cultural resource issues.
We offer guidance, training, and other support necessary for AKARNG to sustain its mission while also protecting the environment and ensuring stewardship of the natural and cultural resources in Alaska.
AKARNG is subject to annual environmental compliance training requirements. These include:
- Basic spill response training
- SPCC training for personnel at facilities with a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan
- Stormwater Pollution Prevention training
- Storage Tanks (ASTs and USTs)
- Hazardous Waste Management
